Isaiah 43:10-12 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD,
"and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there
be one after me. I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there
is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not
some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "that
I am God."
Comment
As Christians we give witness that the LORD Jesus Christ is our savior.
He is the LORD speaking here. He is God. And "we
wait for the blessed hope— the glorious appearing of our great God and
Savior, Jesus Christ." Titus 2:13 "Salvation
is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given
to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 The phrase
"understand
that I am he" is literally
"understand
that I AM" Just as the LORD said to Moses,"I
AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent
me to you.’" Ex 3:14 and just as Jesus said, "I
tell you the truth before Abraham was born, I AM"John
